US Mobile Security, Part 2
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to exploit computer and network vulnerabilities, says Eric Skinner, Entrust. An attacker or casual criminal can easily bypass Windows password protection on a stolen laptop and access confidential information.
U.S. Mobile Internet Population in June Favored Email, Weather and Sports Web Sites, Says Telephia
The analysts ranked Openwave, Motorola, and Nokia as the top Internet browsers among mobile users. The five types of web destinations scoring the most visits during the month of June were email, weather, sports, search, and city guides/maps web sites.

Windows Live Search is now inside Windows Live Messenger as the MSN Search’s WebLog reveals. It’s tough to keep up with what exactly all these Microsoft brands mean. Is Windows Live Search the same as MSN Search, but merely served up in different packaging? In fact the blog posting on Windows Live Search was written by someone with the user name msnsearch. There is no Bio information on this individual and the About for the Blog is empty too. It’s tough for an outsider to keep up with all this, when the insiders seem to be so anonymous.

Windows Live seems to be offering a welter of new products all the time, although how new they are only Microsoft knows. Windows Live™ Search Beta for mobile devices has been around for some months now and hopefully some folk are enjoying its capabilities. It allows you on your Web-enabled mobile device to search the Web for almost anything you’re looking for, just like on a PC. Search results are formatted to fit on your phone’s itty-bitty screen, so you can actually read them easily. Local Search can find a specific location (Chinese restaurants in New York, for instance), and provide maps with driving directions and phone numbers you can call with a single click. If your browser supports xHTML (WAP 2.x), or HTML, then you can use Windows Live Search beta for mobile devices. iMode web browsers are currently not supported.

Google is as usual keeping it simple and doesn’t have the challenge of introducing and explaining two brands. Google Mobile has been around even longer than the Microsoft version and back in January, William Slawski was pointing out that Google was improving Mobile Search. Since then some who have used Google Mobile Mapping find it is great.

So what’s your search choice, will you Live it or will you Google it?
