The Latest News on Everything Android

The Android platform is constantly being updated. Google never rests when it comes to keeping the Android OS on the cutting edge. They push out innovative features that you can’t find on any other mobile platform all the time. One small problem with all these updates is that not all phone manufactures can keep up. Once the Android source is released to the various phone makers they need to customize it to their phones. Once that is done the carriers need to make sure that those updates work on their networks. Not all phone companies have a giant staff of engineers ready to crank out an update.

Many Companies Experience Growing Pains With A Huge Volume Of Updates

That’s why there are so many Android phones that don’t have the latest version of Android. With the variety of Android phones it can be confusing keeping up with which one has what version of Android. This is a great time to go over various phones and talk about the latest Android updates they have received.

The Samsung Galaxy S3

The newest OS for the Android, Jelly Bean, is being rolled out to more countries all the time. It won’t be too long before the entire world has their version 4.1 updates. To date, users in Taiwan, Poland, Hong Kong and Sweden all have the Jelly Bean update. Just this week it has been announced that users in Austria, France, Romania and Spain received their updates today. Users in those countries can download the update directly from SamMobile. Samsung is telling users it’s a better idea to use the Kies software to update. Using Kies you can download the latest Android updates to your computer and sync them with your phone.

What About The USA?

In just a few months the users in the United States will start to see the Jelly Bean update ship out. Samsung is always one of the first companies to ship out new updates. That’s because they have a ton of engineers and lots of support from the network carriers. It’s a great time to be a Samsung Android user.

Droid RAZR M From Verizon

Many users of the Droid RAZR M were unhappy when they found out their shiny new phone came with the old Ice Cream Sandwich OS. There has been good news released this week for users of this phone. By the end of the week the Droid RAZR M will be updated to the new Android Jelly Bean. It’s possible the update will be out within the next 24 hours. The update could start rolling out on October 18th. The reason for the schedule getting moved up could very well have to do with a recent leak suffered by the Droid RAZR M.

The Cutting Edge Galaxy Nexus 7

The Galaxy Nexus 7 has been updated to version 4.1.2 of the Android OS. While many devices are still waiting for the original Jelly Bean update the Galaxy Nexus has already received two further updates. If you are a fan of the Android this is truly the premier Android device in many ways. This new update is also very easy to install. All you need to do is visit your settings panel and tap the software update button. One of the biggest features of this update is screen flipping. You can now turn the tablet to the side to view your screen from a wider angle. In addition to that there were many other bug fixes on the Galaxy Nexus 7.

The Newest Android – Version 4.2

Many phones are still waiting for the Jelly Bean update. That isn’t stopping Google from pressing forward on new creative updates for their flagship phone OS. For some devices Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 are out. The biggest news of all is that version 4.2 is actively being developed. Early details about this new update are out. Individuals were somehow able to get their hands on an early build of 4.2. It looks like Android 4.2 is going to have another pull down menu. It will let users get to options like their settings much quicker than before.

Three More Updates From 4.2

On the notifications page there will be another pull down page as well. In the spot where you get your regular alerts for emails and texts you will see a second page to get to your settings more easily. There are two more big updates in Android 4.2. The first one is the ability to pinch and zoom. The second feature will allow you to archive or delete your message by just swiping them from the screen. It functions very similarly to the way the notifications page works already. While these updates don’t redesign the whole OS they are still useful. The Android is becoming more intuitive and simple to use as each update rolls out. Keep your eyes peeled for more Android 4.2 news!
