A mobile sales force is what every company needs. Clearly here is a very important sector of the mobile universe. ‘Don’t leave home without it’ obviously applies to a sales person’s mobile device. Managing customer relationships (CRM) can only be done effectively by staying in touch.

Microsoft is said to be late to the Hosted CRM Game and will only offer a hosted version next year. Both SAP and Salesforce.com have a healthy head start. SAP has its Mobile Fast Track which allows sales people to access their company’s business systems from their PDAs and place orders or check inventory. Salesforce.com offers its Sales Force Automation (SFA) Software for Mobiles and now has AppExchange Mobile allowing access to any device.

It will be interesting to see how the battle develops over perhaps the most lucrative mobile sector of all.
