Mobile, Mobile everywhere ..
It really is astonishing the proportion of air (Internet) time now devoted to the mobile world. Try a Google Alert on ‘mobile link‘ or ‘mobile device‘ and you’ll find that Google is finding new important items almost every hour 24/7. Here are just three significant items in the last 24 hours:
- Is Microsoft’s iPod killer coming Zune?
- Solar Powered Mobile phones
- NTT DoCoMo adds search options, but not Yahoo or Google
So will StayGoLinks with its focus on the Mobile world try to cover all the important developments. Decidely not. It would be an impossible task. Initially we’ve taken the Big Picture view, or as some might say we’ve been applying Helicopter Vision. We may still from time to time comment on innovations that are shaping how the Mobile world evolves. However now we’ll start to Focus, Focus, Focus and drill down. In fact to use a pretentious word, the mission of StayGoLinks is to look at the Mobile world from one particular point of view. That point of view is involved with the way the Mobile world interacts with and relates to the Desktop world.
Like any personal reflection captured in a Blog, that Mobile/Desktop interaction will not be the sole aspect covered here. But it will be the central thrust of ideas. That interaction is a challenging phenomenon and there are many spinoffs. We’ll also consider other aspects of new technologies and how they evolve. How do new inventions respond to society needs? Is there anything one can learn about creativity and innovation by watching what develops?
We’ll also go back a little in time to describe the genesis of the flow of ideas that is covered in StayGoLinks. The blog is starting now when ideas have already developed on that Mobile/Desktop interaction. So there’s a little catch-up to do before we move forward together.
