In just a few years long-distance learning, or Electronic Learning (e-learning), has become a reality. The use of the mobile phone as a device to deliver content for distance learning, Mobile Learning (m-learning), has passed the experimental stage and received excellent feedback from tutors and students.

Gaming has a huge slice of the broadband activity in the Desktop World. One would guess that Mobile Gaming will have an even bigger slice of the Mobile World. So often when you’re mobile, there’s time to kill. What better than opening up your favourite mobile game.

It’s intriguing to think of the Internet as an Open Space as in Open Space Technology. That’s a process for getting large groups of people to explore problem areas and see how their interaction can produce better solutions. A key to the technology is the Law of Two Feet. In practical terms, the law says that if you’re neither contributing nor getting value where you are, use your two feet (or available form of mobility) and go somewhere else. That’s exactly the way the Internet works. If this isn’t the right place, click away to a new place. In physical spaces, the size of the crowd around a particular topic indicates how many are interested. Different groups grow or decline and disappear as people exercise the Law of Two Feet.

Undoubtedly there will be lots of groups discussing mobile gaming topics as the Mobile Gaming space takes off. Stephanie Rieger points to an Open Discussion: The future with Flash Lite. Adrian Cummings, the author of the Mobile Games Blog, believes that flash will take over on mobiles for entertainment. When that happens, it will mostly all become free and the business revenue models we have now for j2me will totally collapse. The discussion is already attracting quite a crowd. Perhaps you should mosey over.
