The knol thing has me...pensive. I'd really like a new authoritative source of information besides wikipedia, to allow comparisons and such. I'd been hoping for something to come of citizendium but nothing much seems to have materialized. However, I do agree with a lot of comments about a conflict of interest on google's part, and the editorial guidelines aren't any stricter, and less transparent than wikipedia.

Knol is great and all but i recently had an article of mine copied off my site without permission and submitted to Knol, the result? Knol outranked me for my own content.

Google really needs to get this under wraps or there will be many unhappy campers.

We'll see how Knol ends up competing with Wikipedia. Don't really think the big G will come out as the top dog on this one. Only time will tell...
